Small Arizona town faces emergency hike in water rates

The increase comes after the Salome Water Company received approval in December from the Arizona Corporation Commission to implement $24 in monthly surcharges for a pipeline and operating expenses. The surcharges went into effect February 1. Company officials told commissioners at that meeting they were barely able to meet water demand, and one of their two wells would go dry within six months. "Our primary well" is going dry," Steve Wene, the company's attorney, told commissioners in December. Residents in this unincorporated community told ABC15 that their water pressure is low, making it difficult to have enough flow for one person to shower while another washes dishes. Valley man who AG says used fake degree to pose as psychologist pleads ‘no contest’ to criminal charges

Scott Keeling agreed to plead "no contest" to two felony criminal charges, including fraudulent schemes. In exchange, three other felony charges will be dropped. He is facing between one and 2.5 years in prison when he's sentenced later this month. Court records allege Keeling and two other Valley businessmen were "The total alleged amount of fraudulent billing is approximately $5 million," the attorney general alleges in court records. After baby’s stillbirth, couple files lawsuit against Mesa birth center

This week the couple filed a lawsuit against the birth center alleging wrongful death due to negligence and medical malpractice. "You don't want this to happen to anybody else," Dylan Zmrzel told ABC15 in an interview last month. Noelle Zmrzel added, they "just want something to change." According to their lawsuit, Noelle was 42 weeks pregnant and no longer eligible for midwife services under state health rules. However, Willow's midwives continued to provide care "for an additional 20 hours before ultimately calling 911 six minutes after the baby boy's fetal heart tones allegedly drastically dropped," the legal claim said. 'I don't feel safe': Phoenix school, parents ask drivers to slow down and pay attention
